About This Site

Finding someone released in Missouri starts with identifying which system held that person. A county sheriff may document a jail release, the Missouri Department of Corrections may show ongoing supervision after a prison release, and federal or immigration custody requires a separate locator. Missouri Released Inmates is a private reference site that brings those paths together. It also connects readers with the official statewide tools and released-inmate resources for all 115 Missouri localities.

Why This Site Exists

Missouri release information is spread across agencies that serve different roles. County sheriffs and jail custodians keep local booking, custody, and release records. The Missouri Department of Corrections, or MODOC, maintains an offender search for people still under its authority, including many people released from prison to parole, conditional release, or probation. A person who has reached final discharge may no longer appear in that interactive search, so the MODOC Sunshine Law historical file and agency records process provide another route. Federal Bureau of Prisons and ICE custody are separate again.

This site serves as the statewide umbrella for those layers. It explains which source fits a Missouri prison release, a county jail release, a court disposition, or a federal custody change. The county directory then routes readers to each local site, where county-specific jail and records details belong. Official agencies remain the source of every custody status and government record.

Resources Collected Here

The statewide pages organize the main release and records paths without treating one database as a complete answer.

  • The home page explains the statewide search sequence and the records that may remain after a person leaves custody.
  • The Projected Release Date, VINELink Check, and Parole & Probation pages cover distinct forms of date, notification, and supervision research.
  • The County Directory links to released-inmate resources for Missouri's counties and independent St. Louis City.
  • The Facility Directory identifies county jails, state prisons, municipal detention sites, juvenile facilities, and the verified federal institution included in the statewide research.
  • The MODOC Offender Search page explains the difference between an active supervised record and the historical file that includes former offenders.

Limits of Our Role

Missouri Released Inmates is privately operated. It has no affiliation with MODOC, the Missouri Parole Board, Missouri Courts, the Department of Public Safety, any sheriff or jail, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, ICE, or another government body. We cannot release, detain, or transfer a person. We also cannot confirm a current status, obtain an official record for a visitor, post bond, arrange a visit, send funds, or provide legal advice.

Agency procedures, phone numbers, fees, office locations, and online records can change. The site cannot guarantee that every external detail remains current or that a same-name result identifies the intended person.

Only the agency responsible for a Missouri custody or supervision record can confirm its current status, charges, release information, and official meaning.

Search Partners

Some pages contain search tools supplied by independent providers. Those providers set their own prices, terms, data practices, and result coverage. If a tool leads to a paid registration, Missouri Released Inmates may receive a referral fee that helps keep the site's reference content available without charge. We do not control a partner's pricing or the records it returns.
