Why This Site Exists

Missouri release information is spread across agencies that serve different roles. County sheriffs and jail custodians keep local booking, custody, and release records. The Missouri Department of Corrections, or MODOC, maintains an offender search for people still under its authority, including many people released from prison to parole, conditional release, or probation. A person who has reached final discharge may no longer appear in that interactive search, so the MODOC Sunshine Law historical file and agency records process provide another route. Federal Bureau of Prisons and ICE custody are separate again.

This site serves as the statewide umbrella for those layers. It explains which source fits a Missouri prison release, a county jail release, a court disposition, or a federal custody change. The county directory then routes readers to each local site, where county-specific jail and records details belong. Official agencies remain the source of every custody status and government record.

Missouri Released Inmates is privately operated. It has no affiliation with MODOC, the Missouri Parole Board, Missouri Courts, the Department of Public Safety, any sheriff or jail, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, ICE, or another government body. We cannot release, detain, or transfer a person. We also cannot confirm a current status, obtain an official record for a visitor, post bond, arrange a visit, send funds, or provide legal advice.

Agency procedures, phone numbers, fees, office locations, and online records can change. The site cannot guarantee that every external detail remains current or that a same-name result identifies the intended person.

Only the agency responsible for a Missouri custody or supervision record can confirm its current status, charges, release information, and official meaning.
